About Us

Ekensbergsskolan is a small, well-functioning school with about 400 students from preschool class to grade 6.

The school is nicely built with a round building structure, and the classrooms extend from a large light hall located in the center. The light hall simplifies seeing and communicating with all students and adults during the school day. The school offers diverse teaching that mixes digital instruction with traditional methods to keep students' curiosity and creativity at their peak throughout the school day. All students in grades 1-3 have their own iPads, and grades 4-6 have their own computers. The achievement levels among students are high, and we have an active and well-functioning work with values and ethics.

We are now looking for a special educator in the area of reading and writing.

About the Position

We are looking for a special educator who is interested in developing reading and writing skills among students with challenges in this area. The work is carried out in close collaboration with class teachers, school management, and student health services. Documentation, follow-up, and evaluation are part of the position. You have a genuine interest in students with special needs and a desire to work closely with them.

You, together with the special educator in mathematics, Karin, and resource teacher, Anne, will be responsible for organizing special education for students with special needs. You will work with them to design and develop the activities, thereby laying a solid foundation for students' development. School development in Solna includes language-developing working methods, digitalization, values, and adaptation of the learning environment. An important part of the work is to develop the social climate so that all students feel good and thrive in the group. In our school development, we focus on differentiation and a formative approach. We believe that collaboration is key to both collegial teaching and an improved working situation for the school's educators.

Who Are We Looking For?

We are looking for someone who:

is a qualified teacher with a teaching degree and teaching license
has training as a special educator in the area of reading and writing
has experience in pedagogical work
has teaching that is based on science and proven experience, enabling you to create good learning environments (didactic, emotional, and physical)
is well acquainted with LGR 22
has knowledge of language-developing working methods
speaks, reads, and writes fluently in Swedish.

You have a positive attitude towards IT as a tool in both pedagogy and documentation. Your work is based on great commitment, where you are proactive and want to help develop our school and create situations where students succeed. We are looking for someone who is attentive to students' needs, respectful, and easily collaborates with others in the workplace.

You collaborate with students, guardians, and your colleagues, both within your area and across subject boundaries. You plan, organize, and prioritize effectively and ensure that all processes are completed with good quality.
